Joe Bob's Christmas Carnage
Shudder (2024)
It's Friday the 13th, and the world's greatest host is back for a spooky double feature to celebrate the holiday season.
The double feature kicked off with the 2010 Finnish holiday horror flick Rare Exports. It's not bad, but it's not all that great either. I saw it for the first time a few years ago and it didn't leave much of an impression on me the first time around because it took about 45 minutes into the film tonight before I remembered that I had seen it before. I'd only recommend it if you're absolutely obsessed with Christmas horror films, but for anyone else, this is an easy film to skip.
The second film is one of my favorite holiday horror films, It's A Wonderful Knife. This movie was released last year, and I was fortunate enough to get to see it on the big screen at my local Regal Cinema. The title makes it sound like it's going to be a schlocky parody, but it's very clever and funny and a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Justin Long's performance alone makes this a must-see.
