Into The Gap
Thompson Twins (1984)
The fourth and most successful Thompson Twins album was released forty years ago today. I never owned it, but it has two songs that have a place on just about every 80's playlist that I've ever listened to. The first, and less well known of the two, is Doctor Doctor. The second is a song that went to #3 on the charts and is familiar to just about everyone of every age.
I have a picturePinned to my wallAn image of you and of meAnd we're laughing, we're loving it allBut look at our life nowAll tattered and tornWe fuss and we fight and delight in the tearsThat we cry until dawnHold me nowWarm my heartStay with meLet lovin' start, let lovin' startYou say I'm a dreamerWe're two of a kindBoth of us searching for some perfect worldWe know we'll never findSo, perhaps I should leave hereYeah, yeah, and go far awayBut you know that there's nowhereThat I'd rather be, than with you here todayHold me nowWarm my heartStay with meLet lovin' start, let lovin' startYou ask if I love youWell, what can I say?You know that I do and that this is just oneOf those games that we playSo, I'll sing you a new songPlease don't cry anymoreI'll even ask your forgiveness, though I don't knowJust what I'm asking it forHold me nowWarm my heartStay with meLet lovin' start, let lovin' start
