The Hurting
Tears For Fears (1983)
One of my favorite albums ever recorded is turning 40 years old today. The debut album from Tears For Fears was released on March 7th, 1983. It's a record that I have a deeper appreciation for every time that I listen to it.
The video above is a playlist of the entire album. If you've never listened to it before, there's no time like the present. I can't think of a record that captures what it felt like for me growing up as closely as The Hurting. However, if you only have time to listen to one song, click below to listen to Suffer The Children.
Tears For Fears (1983)
It's a sad affairWhen there's no one thereHe calls out in the nightAnd it's so unfairAt least it seems that wayWhen you gave him his lifeAnd all this time it's been getting you downYou ought to pick him up when there's no one aroundAnd convince himJust talk to himCause he knows in his heart you won't be home soonHe's an only child in an only roomAnd he's dependent on youAnd it seems so strangeThat at the end of the dayMaking love can be so goodBut the pain of birthWhat is it worthWhen it don't turn out the way it shouldAnd all this time it's been getting you downYou ought to pick him up when there's no one aroundAnd convince himJust talk to himCause he knows in his heart you won't be home soonHe's an only child in an only roomAnd he's dependent on youSuffer... suffer the children
