The Phillies got off to a great start in the World Series, but the last two nights have been absolutely brutal. Getting no-hit in Game 4 was bad, but the loss on Thursday night was even worse. Philadelphia left 12 runners on base and went 1-7 with runners in scoring position. Hoskins and Castellanos have looked completely overwhelmed by Astros pitching throughout the Series, and Realmuto is swinging the bat like he's exhausted. Houston made a couple of great plays in the 8th and 9th, but the Phillies had numerous opportunities to score throughout the game and couldn't take advantage of them. Now they head to Houston, down 3-2 in the Series and in a do-or-die Game 6.
They had an incredible run to win the pennant, but it looks like the magic has run out for the 2022 Philadelphia Phillies. There's still a chance that they could find a way to win two games in Houston. The Washington Nationals did it in 2019. However, after watching the Phillies offense fold for the past two games, they haven't given me a whole lot of reasons to be optimistic.
At least the Eagles are still undefeated.
