Joe Bob's Halloween Hoedown
Shudder (2021)
There hasn't been an episode of The Last Drive-In on Shudder in almost four months, but Joe Bob and Darcy are back in town tonight at 9:00 pm for their annual Halloween special. The movies are a surprise as always, but two special guests have been announced for the show: Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green, and Blumhouse founder Jason Blum.
The fact that this is on a Friday night put me in a bit of a pickle. I love watching The Last Drive-In and their holiday specials live so that I can tweet along with the rest of the Mutant Fam, but tonight is also the first night of Freddy Fest III at the Mahoning Drive-In, and they're showing the original Nightmare On Elm Street and Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II. Since the Halloween Hoedown will be available to stream for at least a few months, I decided to go to the Mahoning and watch the Joe Bob special later this weekend. I knew I had made the right decision as soon as I pulled up to the entrance at the Mahoning and the dude who scanned my ticket said "welcome home". Joe Bob and Darcy would understand.
